Aviator Hat

Hi Folks,

finally I found back my inner peace for crocheting. Today I've got a funny hat for you. My good friend - who got the Eire Quilt too - asked me if I could crochet this aviator hat for him.
Sorry, I don't know the original source :-(

If you can imagine the hat had to be a littler bigger than for a cute toddler 😉
But I love funny challenges and I'm impressed about people who are self confident enough to wear such showy hats. So quick I went to work and here's what I came up with
He is really happy with this hat. Now it can get colder. ⛄

Would you wear such a hat too?

xoxo

Red, white and green

Hey there!

Hope y'all had a nice 1st Advent yesterday. Today I want to show you some of our christmas decorations.
Let's start with the lights outside. Hubby installed the icicles and bows on Saturday. - Thank you Hubby!

Now come on. Let's go inside, because

Our halloween lights and that pin brought me to one of todays idea. I have to admit that it don't look very nice in the daylight. But look at it at night.

Another illuminated item is this hurricane glass.

I had a similar one last year with other colors. You might have noticed that it's all about red, white and green this year.

You're certainly asking yourself if there is nothing new crocheted? Of course there is... Here's Gingy the new guy in town

And there are some other old buddies too that visited us for the fa-la-la-la-season again.

The Grinch

Santas little Helper
The Elf on the shelf

Thank you for stopping by.

Snowflake hat

Hi Folks!

Nice that you're back. Because it's getting colder outside, I was asked by my sweet neighbor if I could do a few new hats for her little daughters. Both girls love, how might it be different, the Disney movie "Frozen". So I was asked if I can do hats with snowflakes on it. This is what I came up with.
I was inspired by this hat from Sweet Southern Stitches that I found over at ravelry.com
Thanks for dropping in.

Frozen - Olaf

Hi Y'all

nice that you're stumbled in again. The posts of the last few weeks were dealing with crochet gifts and this week is no exception. A nice colleague asked me, if I could do an amigurumi for him again. The last time he asked for Dumbo. This time he aked for Olaf, the snowman from the Disney movie: Frozen. If you don't know him (and I think this is probably unthinkable) this is what he looks like.
This is what I came up with.
There's still one present up to show. So rejoice for next week.

Heidesandcake

Hi Folks,

there are still a few days until christmas... So I'd like to share my favorite christmas cake with you. The cake is called "Heidesandkuchen". I couldn't find a translation but I think that doesn't bother anyway.
Sorry, the cake doesn't become as beautiful as the pictures you are always see at the internet but it tastes nevertheless yummy - This is real life!
Maybe you can bake it the whole year but I like it most around Christmas, because I think with the filling it's christmassy .

Here's the receipe if you like to bake it yourself:

Ingredients
250 g butter
250 g plum jam
2 tbs rolled oats
1 ts grated lemon zest
250 g flour
50 g cornstarch
3 ts baking powder
1/2 ts cinnamon (optional)
150 g sugar
1 pak vanilla sugar
1 pinch salt
4 eggs
Cake icing

Instructions
Tanning the butter and set aside until cool and creamy.
Mix Jam, oatmeal and lemon zest and set aside.

Create a sponge from all the other ingredients. Stir in the cooled butter.

Divide dough into 3 parts. Fill alternating with the jam mixture into the form.

Bake at 160°C for 50-60 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes then overthrow the cake.

When the cake has cooled, cover the cake with the glaze.

Hazelnut-spicy Christmas cookie-creme

Hi Y'all!

Li
ke last year I gave a little present to my colleagues. It's not especially for St. Nicolas or Christmas. I would like to say, it's for christmas season.

I made hazelnut-spicy Christmas cookie-creme. I used the receipe: Homemade Nutella-Spekulatius-Creme from "Zuckersüßes von Tina und Lina". In addition I gave a funny walking santa and and a little bit of choclate.
All was wrapped in a brown paper bag. Decorated with bakers twine and little bit of greenery.
It's absolutly the time for a sweet tooth and not for diet.

Have a tasty time

Christmas Cloth

Hi Folks,

last week I showed you my illuminated christmas decoration but there is even more I did for a cozy christmas season. You may remember my cuddly Grinch quilt and like in Fall I made 3 pillowcases.
The 1st is from IKEA and has gotten a little design with the help of my Silhouette and heat-on foil.
The 2nd one was really nice as it goes. But I missed a little spot of green in there. So I cut a stencil and dabbed on the words with green fabric paint from VBS Studio Tex.
And for the 3rd I bought a absolutly adorable fabric to sew my own pillowcase.
From the leftover I sewed this table topper
Also I had an antique damask bed linen that I dyed from white to green. (Bad blogger missed to have a before-photo - shame on you!) I used Simplicol Textil Echtfarbe from Brauns Heitmann.
but in the end everything fits together very well.
Hope you've a beautiful christmas season.

Note: I didn't get any money for this article. All statements and opinions are my own.

Deck the halls

Happy 1st Advent,

because last year we had this ornate Advent box, this year I wanted to keep it simple. So I only put 4 candles and some decorative ornaments, I had on hand, on a silver plate.
As well we have these christmas ornaments in a hurricane glass.
At the kitchen we have this cute little arrangement that I made last year.
Even our private dragon is in christmas mood. He put on his Santa hat and is guarding our front door.
By the way, did I mention that last week this ol' blog turned 2? Can you imagine? I've never expected that I would have as much fun as I have with this blog, after 2 years. Although there are more and more blogs about crafting I will go on with it and hope you'll enjoy.

How the Grinch stole Christmas Quilt

Hi Y'all

because I'm a bit under quilting fever since I have made the Minnie quilt and the Superhero quilt for my niece and my nephew. This time  I planned a quilt for my own use. I wanted to make a jelly roll quilt for a while and that was the chance. It was not that easy as I imagined but in the end I had a "How the Grinch stole christmas" quilt that.I.love!

I wish you a warm and cozy christmas season and hope to see you soon.

Santas little helper!

Hi everybody!

This year we skipped Halloween because we weren't at home to welcome all the little creepy figures.

So next is the holly jolly christmas stuff. Last year I've made this cute little elf on the shelf to have some fun at christmas season.

This year I've met this busy little guy. He's one of Santas hard working helpers. I think he's checking Santas list, twice.
I worked hard to be on the "Nice" side. Please keep fingers crossed for me.

On which side will he find you?

First steps with my new silhouette cameo

Hi Everybody,

Again I was very busy. As you might remember I've got this one last year for my birthday! This year I wanted to have something completely different. I've got a few vouchers from amazon for my birthday. So I could by this Silhouette Cameo
For my first project I wanted to do something simple. As you know I  love my cats and I wanted to show. So I decided to do this design for my tablet case.
Because the first project went out really well, I thought I could start a little bit more difficult. So I did another catloving project for our living room.
The Heart is made from red wool
Since the weekend I have the hope and feeling that spring starts. Before I put this little guy down for the summer I thought I would be fun to make a quick shot together with the decoration for St. Patrick's Day.

Thanks for dropping in.

And the crochet goes on

Hi Y'all,

if you have noticed, I had a little blog break but I'm happy to be here again. You may asking what I did in the meantime. Oooooh I was not lazy these days. So I have a few pics for you.

Last time I showed you the beginning of "Stitch" from Disney's "Lilo and Stitch". I promised to show you the finished one. So <drum-roll> here it is:
I also told you about the amineko-cat for a baby-shower. This one is finished as well:
And to top it off, there are two more minions which had been 'adopted':
BTW: We had a little bit of snow the last weeks. It's not a secret that I'm not a big fan of winter but the view was really nice. See for yourself:
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you soon.
